Digital Skills

Keeping up as digital life charges ahead

In a world where everything is becoming digital, people, businesses and societies need skills that keep pace with advancing technology to survive.

In all our markets, we work with global and local partners to help people build future skills for life. Our ambition to drive a positive impact in digital skills is about helping people keep pace with advancing technology, making it safe and including all while doing so.

Maximising Impact through Partnerships

Our partnerships with organisations such as UNICEF, Plan International and Cisco further our ambitions and allow us to maximise the impact of our initiatives.

For us, online safety and safeguarding customers when they use our services is an important part of what we do. Since 2021, we have trained 3.2 million children, teachers and caregivers in online safety principles related to cyber-bullying and online risks, including guidance on parental controls, access to helplines for children, mechanisms for reporting illegal and harmful content and efforts to prevent the spread of child sexual abuse.

Partnerships in Action

Our partnerships demonstrate some of the ways we drive impact, whether by providing education and promoting online safety in the schools in Pakistan, offering ways for elderly folks in Thailand to learn vital digital skills or supporting Bangladesh’s digital transformation by helping the country’s youths and students build competitive skills and digital expertise.

Here are some of the ongoing projects in our markets which aim to help young people build key future skills. We engage local and global partners to provide relevant training and to reach our audiences.
